TAKE ACTION: JUSTICE FOR JALIN
Jalin Seabron was a beloved 23-year-old Black and Latino young man from Denver, Colorado. A graduate of Grandview High School in Aurora and a youth ambassador for the Crowley Foundation, Jalin was a leader in his community, known for his kindness, charisma, and commitment to uplifting others. He had just learned he was going to be a father and was celebrating his birthday on the night his life was stolen.
On February 8, 2025, while fleeing a dangerous incident inside the Main Event in Highlands Ranch, Jalin was fatally shot by Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Nicholas Moore. Jalin was legally armed and acting defensively, attempting to protect his pregnant girlfriend after gunfire erupted inside the venue. Within just seven seconds of arriving on scene, Deputy Moore opened fire—without identifying himself, issuing a warning, or attempting to assess the situation. Jalin was shot seven times in the side and back. He never fired a single round.
Deputy Moore arrived with an assault rifle on his lap and a readiness to kill. His actions violated Colorado state law and department policy requiring de-escalation and the use of nonviolent alternatives. Yet, on April 7, 2025, District Attorney George Brauchler announced that no charges would be filed.
This tragedy is not an isolated event—it reflects a violent and discriminatory pattern of policing in America, where Black and Brown people are criminalized, even when exercising their constitutional rights. In Douglas County, where the Second Amendment is celebrated, Jalin’s right to self-defense was seen not as a liberty—but as a threat.
We demand accountability. We call on the community to contact Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly and demand the immediate termination of Deputy Nicholas Moore, whose record shows a pattern of unjustified violence. Stand with us, and with the many organizations fighting for Justice for Jalin. His life mattered. His future was stolen. And we refuse to be silent.
