On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Denver Justice Project staff, board members, and volunteers joined thousands of community members in downtown Denver at one of the largest demonstrations the city and country have seen in recent years. Organized by a broad coalition of community groups, the protest created a powerful space for collective resistance against the Trump administration’s authoritarian actions,  the violent expansion of ICE operations, and a call to protect democracy.

DJP was proud to stand in solidarity with those who marched, chanted, and protested at the Colorado State Capitol and throughout downtown, challenging policies that directly harm Black, Brown, immigrant, and working-class communities—policies that stand in direct contradiction to DJP’s mission of building safe and healthy communities.

We have seen firsthand the devastating impacts of this administration across the Denver metro area. These include the cruel escalation of immigration enforcement that tears families apart, sweeping cuts to federal programs that working families rely on, and the use of public funds to fuel violence—including the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. These actions not only betray the values of democracy but actively deepen systemic harm in our communities.

Throughout the day, DJP connected directly with hundreds of attendees at our community fair table. We distributed Know Your Rights cards and booklets in both English and Spanish, providing vital information for people navigating interactions with law enforcement and immigration agents. We shared updates about the case of Jalin Seabron, who was killed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and provided DJP brochures for community members to connect with us, learn about our work, and get involved.

Our table featured an interactive trivia wheel that encouraged participants to test their knowledge of their rights. Attendees spun the wheel, answered Know Your Rights trivia questions, and won small prizes—all while gaining valuable information about how to stay safe and advocate for themselves and their communities.

We thank everyone who showed up, and we’re especially grateful to the community members who stopped by our table. We appreciate their support, engagement, and investment in the work of the Denver Justice Project!
